By advertising one single telephone number, callers can be given information and directed to their nearest branch or local stockists through an "as the crow flies" postcode recognition system.

Two services are available to handle nearest branch calls - live call centre agents or automated call handling. For lower volumes of calls, or where information needs to be obtained or provided prior to call transfer, the live agent service is recommended. Where high volumes of calls are expected, our automated Speech Recognition service may be the more appropriate solution.

How It Works

Confero's "Store Connector" allows callers to telephone a single nationally advertised telephone number, such as an 08xx Non Geographic Number (NGN). They are greeted by a reassuring voice, which asks for their postcode. Each caller is then transferred directly to his or her nearest store or dealer.

Once callers are transferred, their telephone numbers and local branch or dealer can be stored. So when they call back, calls go straight through to their local dealer without any interaction with a live agent or speech recognition system.

If the call is received after hours, an SMS message can be sent to callers giving information regarding store opening hours, branch location, and direct telephone number (if available).

Should a speech recognition system be implemented, Confero uses the latest developments and techniques for postcode recognition, built through years of experience and millions of transactions.

If a postcode is not known or not recognised, callers can be seamlessly transferred to either your call centre or to Confero. At that point, a local server or web based lookup system can be used to identify the nearest store or branch and transfer the caller.
